Why you need to study bonus terms: the headline is not the bonus

A no deposit bonus is a headline, 100 free spins, and a page of terms that decides what the headline is worth. Six clauses do most of the deciding, and every one of them is printed somewhere on the casino's site. This guide takes them in the order that matters, names the brand on this site that prints each version, and ends with the order to read them in before claiming any code.

The cashout cap

The cap is the most that a bonus can ever pay out, and it sets the best case before a spin is made. Jet and Beef print 10x the bonus amount; Flagman prints 10x for Germany, Canada, Austria and New Zealand and other figures elsewhere; Cactus prints EUR 5,000; Play Fortuna prints 100 in euros or dollars; Booi prints 20 dollars; BitStarz prints 100 for its registration spins. Most brands on this site print no cap at all, and a missing cap is not an unlimited one: it means the wagering multiplier and the general withdrawal terms decide, and the review says which. The slot the spins land on is high-volatility at every brand here, so the sessions that hit the cap are the rare ones, and the cap is where the rare session's value is cut to a fixed sum. The cashout cap page runs the arithmetic per code.

Twenty units and a cap

100 spins at 0.2 are a 20-unit bonus. A 10x cap makes 200 the ceiling. A 5,000x round on The Dog House at that stake is worth far more than 200 and pays 200. That sentence is the reason to read the cap first.

The wagering multiplier

Wagering is the number of times the bonus winnings must be staked before they can be withdrawn, and it is the work the bonus asks for. On this site it runs from 20x at Vavada, on the free-spin winnings, and at Play Fortuna and SpinBetter, through 25x at 1xSlots, 30x at Riobet, 40x at Cactus, Booi, Vodka and BitStarz, 45x at the Cat, Royal and Gizbo families and most others, to 50x at the Auf, CryptoBoss and Unlim network, where CryptoBoss counts the multiplier from the real-money balance. Twenty units of winnings at 45x is hundreds of units of bets, and on a slot that pays on a third of its spins the balance is at risk across every one of them. Two brands with the same headline and multipliers of 20x and 45x are offering different things, and the review's bonus mark reflects it.

Read what the multiplier applies to

To the winnings from the spins, at Vavada; to the bonus sum, at BitStarz; to the real-money balance, at CryptoBoss. The base matters as much as the number, and the wagering page works through each.

The max bet and the excluded games

The max bet clause caps the stake per spin while a bonus is active, and a breach voids the bonus and everything won from it. It is the commonest cause of a confiscated bonus, because the software at most casinos lets the bet through and the check happens at withdrawal, when the history is read. The excluded games clause lists titles that contribute nothing to wagering or that void the bonus if played, and progressive jackpots, bonus buys and often table games are on it; some terms weight table games at a fraction of the stake. Both clauses are in the bonus terms, both are read at the cashier, and neither is enforced at the moment of the bet. The max bet and game rules page lists what each code here allows, and the voided bonus page lists the clauses that were used.

The spins choose the game for you

Free spins land on a named slot, and that is also the terms: The Dog House at Vavada, Cactus and the Auf network, Book of Dead at Play Fortuna, SpinBetter and Riobet, a list at Martin with Gates of Olympus on it. The slot pages say what the game does to the session.

Expiry, one account, and the fee

Three clauses that are read less and used often. Expiry: a bonus must be activated within a stated time of registration and wagered within another, and spins not used by the deadline are removed; the bonus pages note the windows where the casino publishes them. One account: one bonus per person, household, device and IP address, and a second account found at withdrawal voids both balances, which is the clause behind most disputes that reach us. And the fee: Vodka takes 8% from any deposit withdrawn before it is wagered once, 1xSlots charges to convert a crypto deposit into a fiat balance, and several brands charge a percentage on withdrawals below a threshold or above a monthly count; the cashier sections of the reviews print them. None of these is hidden; all of them are on the terms page, in the general terms and away from the bonus terms, which is why the bonus terms alone are not enough.

Verify before the play

Every clause here is applied at the cashier, after the play. Upload documents before the first withdrawal, and read the terms before the first spin; the KYC page covers the first and this page the second.

The order to read them in

  1. The cashout cap

It sets the best case. If it is 10x the bonus, everything else is about reaching 200 units on a 20-unit bonus.

  2. The wagering multiplier and its base

It sets the work. 20x on winnings and 45x on the bonus sum are different bonuses with the same headline.

  3. The max bet and the excluded games

They are how a bonus is lost. Set the stake under the cap and stay on allowed games until the wagering clears.

  4. Expiry, one account, fees

In the general terms. Activate in time, hold one account, know what the cashier charges.

  5. The slot

Named in the offer. Its page here says what 100 spins on it look like, and the cap decides the rest.

Questions about bonus terms

Which bonus term matters most

The cashout cap, because it sets the best case, and then the wagering multiplier, because it sets the work. A 100-spin bonus at 0.2 a spin is worth 20 units; a 10x cap makes the most you can withdraw 200, however large the round. Jet and Beef print that cap, Cactus prints EUR 5,000, and most brands print nothing, which means the wagering decides.

What does 45x wagering mean

That winnings from the bonus must be staked 45 times over before withdrawal. Twenty units of winnings is hundreds of units of bets, which on a high-volatility slot is many sessions of play with the balance at risk on every one. The multiplier on this site runs from 20x at Vavada, Play Fortuna and SpinBetter to 50x at the Auf, CryptoBoss and Unlim network.

What is a max bet clause

A cap on the stake per spin while a bonus is active, commonly a few units or a share of the bonus. Breaching it is the commonest reason a bonus and its winnings are voided, and the casino's software rarely stops the bet. The max bet page in the bonus section lists what each code here allows.

Can the terms change after I claim

The general terms can, and the bonus you claimed is governed by the version in force when you claimed it. Save the terms page the day you claim; the reviews on this site record the terms as verified on a stated date for that reason.
